“NEW RULES”
Talks series

Navigating Film’s Unfixed Future.

In Partnership with WePresent, WUTI poses the tough questions to some of the film industry’s most exciting new voices in order to learn from both their success and failures, and gain their perspective on where the film industry is headed.

FINDing YOUR AUDIENCE

We dissect the changing state of film distribution and question how to find your audience. Featuring Molly Manning Walker (How to Have Sex), Janicza Bravo (Zola), Head of Creative at Film4 Farhana Bhula (How to Have Sex, All of Us Strangers) and Graham Fulton, co-CEO of distribution company Conic.

IP & originality

We question whether the film industry relies too heavily on existing IP and discuss how to get your story to resonate with an audience, as well as how to protect your ideas. Featuring Crystal Moselle (The Wolfpack, Skate Kitchen), Amrou Al-Kadhi (Layla) and Octavia Peissel, independent producer and lWes Anderson collaborator (Asteroid City, The French Dispatch).

FUNDING

We ask how the landscape has changed and examine the challenges and opportunities that this may present. With Charlotte Regan (Scrapper), producer Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor (Blue Story), and Rich Peppiatt (Kneecap). We hear firsthand how they funded their films and what they learnt from the process.
