ALMA HAR’EL, JENN NKIRU & SHARON ORECK / FFFest - ADVENTURES IN MUSIC VIDEo

WUTI hosted a panel at the FFFest exploring the world of music video from its inception in the 80s, through the glory years of the 90s and into a bright future with some of the women that have turned it an art form. We examined the power of music video to crystalize the cultural moment and considered the thorny issues of representation.

Our visionary panel included SHARON ORECK, the legendary producer, who was there when it all began ALMA HAR’EL the uncompromising magic realist and JENN NKIRU. The relative newcomer who took the internet by storm with REBIRTH IS NECESSARY. In Jenn’s work we can see that the world of music video is more vibrant, relevant and powerful than ever.
